As of last weekend, my mom and I have been living with my grandma. It's been somewhat hectic since my mom and my grandma haven't lived together in over 20 years. Other than the craziness of trying to find our clothes that are still packed up, it has been pretty calm. Living with my grandma has helped with the fact that it feels like there is no where to call home because my grandma's house is home for my mom and it's like my second home because I spent most of my time there when I was little while my parents were at work. We still haven't bought the house because my mom's lawyer found a lean against the house from the eighties, but we got that cleared up on Friday. Now, we are waiting on the appraiser to see how much the house is really worth and then we can buy it! I'm super excited to get it in there and start getting the carpet out to start the process of fixing it up.

Our first step is going to be to remove the tree that is dead and leaning toward our house. We're really worried about the tree because there is no insurance on the house and if we tried to get insurance on it now it wouldn't cover the tree. So, we're in a bit of a bind. We've had four people come out to look at the tree, but no one will do it for a reasonable price because of the danger. The dead tree is broken about 15 feet up and is leaning on another dead tree that is leaning toward our house. The tree cutters are worried that if they try to push the tree over, it will fall either on them or the house. After we remove the tree we are going to put a new roof on the house. There is a dip behind the chimney where there is a beam missing which is allowing water to leak in and run down the wall in the living room when it rains.
